Evan Fournier he was one of the players who took off the silver medal after losing to Spain in the Eurobasket final He decided to remove the medal from his neck. Now, days after what happened, he has explained everything that led him to carry out this action after the defeat against those of Scariolo.

“I take it as an insult. When you work so hard to win gold and they give you silver or bronze…”, says the Frenchman.

And he continues: “It was seen on the podium, we were all very unhappy. It is as if they rewarded you for having lost. As if they told you, ‘Well done, you lost!’

“I feel like I’m failing when I receive that medal and put it around my neck. It’s hard, and I want to get even,” Fournier says in words in ‘Aparté’.

At 29 years old, Fournier faces a new course in a New York Knicks that last season did not measure up after signing a good 2020-21.

In the final, the Frenchman put his points locker at 23, but France started a game poorly in which he fell against Spain.
