Mess Hilgers and Ramiz Zerrouki

Last summer Feyenoord focused on FC Twente players Mees Hilgers and Ramiz Zerrouki. However, the team from Rotterdam did not reach an agreement with the club from Enschede.
In particular, the interest in Zerrouki was very concrete and the midfielder himself also wanted to make the switch to De Kuip, but Feyenoord did not want to meet the hefty transfer fee that FC Twente early.
Hilgers was also on Feyenoord’s wish list, which may be able to try again next summer. The 21-year-old defender, who recently made his debut for the Dutch Juniors, still has a contract until mid-2023.
FC Twente does have the option to extend that contract by one year, but the Enschede players want more. The Tukkers are in talks with Hilgers about breaking his contract, reports the Tubantia Wednesday morning. It is not clear whether Hilgers is open to contract extension.
