FC Bayern in the individual review: Sané succeeds by turning the outside of his foot – Sport

Manuel Neuer’s shoulder really doesn’t have to be doing well, otherwise the captain wouldn’t have missed the Bundesliga top game. That’s how Ulreich got his third appearance of the season, which he surely imagined would be more stressful against the surprisingly strong Freiburg side. Five goals up front, no goal behind – all in all a quiet substitution hour.

Has certainly never experienced an opponent like Christian Günter, who “marches like a salt man” on the flank, to quote his coach Christian Streich. After a good 25 minutes, the Baden locomotive Mazraoui escaped – but did not bring his pass to the striker in the middle. Günter continued to run long after his team was far behind. Mazraoui will be happy if he has opponents with less work ethic again.

Works against his image as a shaky defender in which he has now played several games as a stable defender. Has been doing successful self-PR for weeks.

Blocked the very fast Kevin Schade early on with a tackle and thus prevented Honorary President Uli Hoeneß from getting upset in the stands and possibly scolding him again (“Embarrassing!”). Then acted as robustly as Amnesty International is committed to human rights.

Showed the very fast Schade just before half-time that he is still a bit faster and checked him to the cheers of the spectators on the sidelines before there was a presumed big chance. Missed the first big opportunity of the game himself when he pulled wide after six minutes. Nevertheless, a lively appearance – seems to have recovered well from the Bellingham kick in Dortmund.

Was perhaps a little surprised why the otherwise so venomous people of Freiburg weren’t so venomous on his feet at times. Used his surprising clearances to initiate two first-half goals. After that I still had time to water the lawn (photo).

After two conspicuous games, allowed himself a rather inconspicuous game again. Will he be able to handle this given the result.

Leroy Sane

Failed from close range on the shoulder of Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken and seemed to be sure that all efforts were in vain before Gnabry used the rebound (see there). Then succeeded with a very nice turn on the outside of the foot, which became the template for Choupo-Moting’s goal – he is currently able to do many of these top tricks. What else can he do? Long-range hit like his goal to make it 3-0 (photo). In short: a lot has been working out for him for weeks.

Sadio Mané

If everything goes well in a game, then lob goals from strikers also work when looking for form and position. Although: Is Mané still looking for a form? Compared to the form of Leroy Sané? Yes. Compared to the form of normal form-seekers? no In any case, he scored 4-0 with a very sensitive lob (photo) and has now scored nine competitive goals in 16 appearances. And the position search is probably over – he seems to have found his place on the left Ribéry side.

Before the game, before Mané, was the number one concern in the Bayern squad. He just didn’t want to score, sometimes he wasn’t even noticed. From his point of view, it’s good that he caught the eye directly with a goal – and he hasn’t scored that often in his career with a long-distance header after a goalkeeper’s rebound. After a nice Choupo-Moting pass in the second half, he missed a shot at the post to show his stirring joy a second time. Was allowed to stay on the pitch until the end, let off steam and definitely show his strongest game of the season.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

Recently, when FC Bayern was still in crisis, it was said that there was whispering in the dressing room as to why Julian Nagelsmann always replaced Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and not the young, dynamic Mathys Tel. Whether the whispering really happened, you don’t know – but if so, it will remain silent after this game. Choupo-Moting showed a half against all doubters. He was involved in creating the 1-0, headed the dangerous Freiburg corners himself from his own penalty area, showed that he is technically more delicate than his height of 1.91 meters would suggest – and he scored the 2-0 himself , by letting national defender Matthias Ginter get out. Has anyone here been looking for a nine?

Of course, bitter from the opponent’s point of view, if you have one Jamal Musiala can bring from the bank. The after-effects of his corona infection probably did not allow a starting eleven to be used, but Musiala’s sprint over half the place shortly after the start of duty indicated solid fitness. Also came Mathys Tel, Benjamin Pavard, Josip Stanisic and Marcel Sabitzer – who also scored a goal.
