At the end of the season Sebastian Vettel ends his career. A turning point about which he gives a lot of thought. Despite four World Championship titles in Formula 1, at some point nobody will remember him, the 35-year-old muses and recognizes parallels with the British royal family.

Sebastian Vettel expects to be forgotten as a Formula 1 driver. “I once heard someone say, ‘You’ll only be remembered until the last person who remembers you dies.’ Let me put it this way: the UK has a new king, but he’s not the first King Charles – there were two others before him. do you remember her Probably not. There is a limit,” said Vettel in an interview with his team Aston Martin published on Wednesday. “There will probably come a point where no one will remember me. Nothing lasts forever.”

Vettel will end his Formula 1 career at the end of this season after four world championship titles and currently 53 Grand Prix victories.

Would the 35-year-old have continued his career with a more powerful car? “I dont know. Would I resign if I had been very competitive in the past three or four years: won races, fought for championships – maybe won another one?” said the man from Heppenheim. “Maybe I would have come to the same decision, but maybe not. It’s impossible to say, but I’ve thought about it.”
