Eden Hazard again has to take criticism, but also receives support: “Difficult if the coach does not believe in you”

After five games without playing minutes, Eden Hazard was allowed to start another game at Real Madrid on Tuesday. The Red Devil kicked off in the Champions League against Shakhtar (1-1), but was replaced before the hour.

The Spanish sports newspaper AS is arguably the hardest for Hazard after his brief appearance against Shakhtar. “He got his chance at a position that should suit him. The Belgian lost that chance again, despite his freedom of movement. Hazard in the base is not the same as starting with Vinicius Junior.’

“These games should get Hazard out of his football depression, but he doesn’t seize his chance,” it continued. ‘The only bright spot in recent seasons was his teamwork with Karim Benzema, but that didn’t go well against Shakhtar either. Why does he get so few minutes? The answer is simple: if he had gotten his teeth into more, coach Carlo Ancelotti would have given him more playing time. His competitors show more enthusiasm. If Hazard stays on the bench, it will be more than right.”

‘Not fair’

‘Even Hazard doesn’t believe in Hazard’, captioned the Spanish sports newspaper Brand, who also shows understanding for the situation of the Red Devil. Eden Hazard was kicking off again and did very little. An opportunity wasted, yet again. But it would be easy to condemn him completely for this match. It seemed as if even Eden didn’t believe in himself. But it’s actually not fair. He is only allowed to play one game a month and there is still the slight doubt that things could be different if he were allowed to play every two weeks instead. Unfortunately we will never see that.’

Frustrations at Hazard.

In front of Sports world Hazard was a big disappointment. “Hazard wanted to get rid of the negative feelings, but he ended up being the big disappointment of Real Madrid, who did little or nothing in the first half. Hazard did not take advantage of the opportunity that coach Ancelotti gave him. He reinforced the feelings of the people who doubt him.’

Real Madrid legend: ‘Difficult if coach doesn’t believe in you’

Real Madrid legend Guti would have taken up for Hazard after the game. “It’s hard to prove yourself on the pitch if the coach doesn’t trust you,” said the 45-year-old Spaniard. Coach Ancelotti was brief about Hazard’s performance: “He did his thing but was unable to do much because Shakhtar defended very well.”
