Once again FC Bayern has to complain about prominent corona cases. One day after the 4-0 win against Leverkusen, two positive results dampened the mood. The Champions League continues on Tuesday, then Borussia Dortmund is waiting.
DAfter each positive test for the corona virus, FC Bayern Munich has to do without Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller for the time being. Both national soccer players are symptom-free and doing well, the German record champions announced on Saturday.
Kimmich and Müller are therefore in domestic isolation. They had played 4-0 against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday evening. After the Champions League game against Viktoria Pilsen on Tuesday, Bayern will face the Bundesliga classic next Saturday at Borussia Dortmund.
For both Kimmich and Müller, it is not their first corona infection. Bayern’s captain Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka had to pass due to positive tests for the World Cup dress rehearsal of the German national team, they were back on the pitch against Leverkusen.
Manuel Neuer adelt Musiala
The focus of the record champions after the recent gala against Leverkusen is anyway someone else: Jamal Musiala dribbled and tricked to his heart’s content, was involved in three goals as a scorer or passer and delighted the 75,000 spectators. Even the reminder Oliver Kahn didn’t say “Yes, but”, but pure enthusiasm at Musiala: “Jamal shows from game to game what he’s made of. He manages to get to his top performance level game after game. He’s the one who’s giving us a lot of joy at the moment,” said the Munich-based CEO.
Captain Manuel Neuer even named Musiala a “key player” for FC Bayern and the German national team. “He’s often responsible for crucial situations.” It’s remarkable that the youngster suddenly came to the fore verbally.
“We were really hungry. We wanted to show what we can do,” said the man of the evening. Suddenly he even spoke words in the Kahn style: “Don’t put it back now, that’s important! We have to bring the same hunger, the same energy, to the next games.”
