Cristiano Ronaldo reflects on being sidelined at Manchester United: ‘Soon we’ll be together again’

Dismissed from the core of Manchester United after joining the locker room before the final whistle in the victory against Tottenham, Cristiano Ronaldo is making a lot of noise on the other side of the Channel.

At the end of the contract at the end of the season, the English press evokes a departure from the month of January, while his case seems to be more and more difficult to manage for his coach, Erik ten Hag.

Not taken back during the trip to Chelsea, the Portuguese star wanted to express himself, in a long message on Instagram. “As I have always done throughout my career, I try to live and play respectfully with my colleagues, my opponents and my coaches. That hasn’t changed. I did not change. I am the same person and the same professional that I have been for the last 20 years playing elite football, and respect has always played a very important role in my decision-making process. I started very young, the examples of older and more experienced players were always very important to me. Therefore, later on, I always tried to set an example myself for young people who grew up in all the teams I represented”.

Before admitting his wrong. “Unfortunately that’s not always possible and sometimes the tension of the moment takes over. At the moment I just feel like I have to keep working hard at Carrington (the Red Devils training center, editor’s note), supporting my teammates and be ready for anything in any game. Giving in to pressure is not an option. It never has been. This is Manchester United, and united we must stand tall. Soon we will we’ll be together again.”

Will the Portuguese carry the colors of the Mancunian club? Everything remains to be seen….
