Police are taking action against 300 Stuttgart Ultras

Again and again there are clashes between football ultras and the police. Same before that Game between Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart on Saturday afternoon.

A total of 300 VfB supporters were arrested before the game at Signal Iduna Park and could not enter the stadium. The descriptions of what is said to have happened vary widely.

The police of North Rhine-Westphalia Dortmund (NRW DO) posted at 1:34 p.m. on Twitter that Hohe Straße in the Gutenbergstraße/Dudenstraße area had to be completely closed “due to police measures during today’s football match”. The following was also mentioned: “We will report when our measures have been completed. #BVBVFB“.

At 1:59 p.m., the NRW DO police gave more details about the measures, but not their cancellation. She wrote on Twitter: “Our measures are currently directed against a group of around 300 people on Hohe Straße. In the run-up, these were inter alia by passive weaponry and uncooperative behavior vs. noticed by the police. Reports regarding breach of the peace are made. #BVBVFB“.

It was not until 5:05 p.m. that the NRW DO police announced on Twitter that the measures on Hohe Strasse had ended and that the road was completely passable again. The operation lasted at least three and a half hours. According to VfB, the fan buses with the affected Ultras have now left.

Fan support Stuttgart previously told BILD: “VfB fan support confirms that the VfB ultras in Dortmund are being held by the police and processed for identification purposes. After that they will have to leave the city and will not be allowed into the stadium. What exactly is behind it is described differently by the police and fans.

What exactly happened remains unclear for the time being. It was noticeable in the stadium that there was very little support from the VfB block. Of course, that was also due to the course of the game (Dortmund led 2-0 early on, at half-time it was even 3-0), but the absence of many ultras was still clearly noticeable.
