Bundesliga: Altach passes red lantern to Ried

Miroslav Klose’s team returned to winning ways after six games without a win and five defeats. Ried is now the new bottom. For their part, the Innviertler have been waiting for a Bundesliga win since the second round and suffered their third defeat in a row. In the table, Rieder is now two points behind Hartberg, who is second to last, and Altach is now even tenth.

Ried coach Christian Heinle had to do without his injured captain Marcel Ziegl. The 29-year-old had to undergo a knee arthroscopy. Instead, Stefan Nutz, Matthias Gragger and Michael Martin reported fit again and were immediately in the starting XI. At Altach, Tino Casali replaced the injured Jakob Odehnal in goal. In addition, Manuel Thurnwald and Felix Strauss returned to the starting eleven after injuries, as did Nuhiu.

Early goals on both sides

It was also the old hand from Altach who got the guests off to a dream start. After a corner kick from Emanuel Schreiner, Nuhiu headed the lead in the fourth minute. That shouldn’t last long. Mikic equalized just four minutes later, which is worth seeing. The Rieder took advantage of a serious ball loss by Jan Jurcec in his own penalty area.

A lively game developed in the josko Arena, which was filled with 3,229 spectators, in which Ried increasingly took control. Casali had to stretch when Josef Weberbauer tried to clear the ball for a corner (18′). It was also a corner that resulted in the home team’s lead. Nutz brought the corner kick up to the edge of the penalty area and Pomer volleyed the ball perfectly to make it 2-1 (23′). A controversial scene preceded the corner kick, but referee Spurny saw no foul on Altacher Schreiner, who cleared the corner. At the other end, Bakary Nimaga equalized less than two minutes later, Tin Plavotic cleared for a corner.

As a result, Ried again had the better chances. A shot by Martin didn’t find the ball through the turbulent defense (36′), Weberbauer failed to find Casali from a tight angle (40′). The guests had the last chance before the break, but Tibidi got stuck on Samuel Sahin-Radlinger, who came out well.

“Joker” Tartarotti shoots Altach to victory

The same duel took place immediately after the break, again Tibidi put the ball too far in front of Sahin-Radlinger. Shortly thereafter, the 18-year-old Frenchman did better. Substitute Tartarotti used it perfectly with a through ball and Tibidi scored between Sahin-Radlinger’s legs to equalize (52′). The game was still varied. Rieder David Ungar failed with a header at Casali (64th).

Altach, however, managed to take the lead and turned the game around. Tartarotti shot from a good 20 meters and gave Sahin-Radlinger no chance. The game still had several half-chances on both sides. The last big chance came from Seifedin Chabbi, whose header touched the crossbar (91′). As a result, Altach’s first victory since the third matchday almost two months ago remained.

Comments on the game:

Christian Heinle (Ried trainer): “We got off to the worst possible start. The reaction was heavy ok. They kept us busy, but I didn’t care. We just wanted to win today, no matter how. But when you make such individual mistakes as you do today, you don’t need to talk about anything else. I know the situation as a coach, but it’s the first time I’ve been in a situation where I have to fight for my job. There is no pressure for the club yet, but there is for me.”

Miroslav Klose (Altach coach): “It was a varied game with emotional chaos. We changed a few things at half-time and brought in two new players who play well between the lines. I’m incredibly proud of the boys today. I have the feeling that many players have a lot more potential in them.”
