Alpha Djalo released in the 2nd round by the world n°1

The French Alpha Djalo was eliminated in the second round of the World Judo Championships by the world No.1 in the -81 kg category, Sunday in Tashkent.

After a first round mastered by the French, concluded in less than 50 seconds, it was the Georgian Tato Grigalashvili, vice-world champion in title, who was waiting for Djalo in the second round.

The double European champion, whom Djalo had beaten last July at the Zagreb Grand Prix, won by ippon after 1 min 42 sec of combat.

«I put my left hand in the wrong place. I tried to vary my grip a little and it was not necessary“, explained the Frenchman. “There are things you have to be tough on and I wasn’t tough so I picked it up.»
