A definite derby! Slavia swept Sparta in the first half. Boleslav and Slovácko managed a turnaround

March of Spartan fans from Náměstí Miru to Eden

The highlight of the weekend was the Prague derby. It was the first and very bitter for Sparta coach Brian Priske. In a direct fight for second place in the table, Sláviste recorded the highest win in the Prague derby in individual history. Letenští experienced their worst half in the independent history of the top league and conceded all four goals before the break. Václav Jurečka, Jakub Hromada, Lukáš Masopust and Peter Olayinka scored successively. A remarkable detail: the ratio of shots on goal was identical to the score – 4:0

Slavia avenged its rival’s defeat at the end of the extension of the last league season. The “Red and White” won the seventh home match of this year’s top competition and scored 32 goals.

The Slavists continue to lose four points from the second place in the table to the defending champions from Pilsen, who have a good game to play. Sparta equaled its highest defeat in the history of a separate league, losing after 11 rounds and in third place, five points behind the team from Eden.

Hradec won on the field of weakened České Budějovice 3:0 and secured fourth place. In the 49th minute, Lukáš Havel was sent off and the visitors took advantage of the power play with three goals. Two of them were scored by Filip Kubala, who also assisted on the goal of substitute Matěj Koubek. The “intruders” won the top competition for the third time in a row, the South Bohemians did not score after three rounds and are ninth in the incomplete table.

Mladá Boleslav defeated Bohemians 1905 4:3, despite losing three times. In the 86th minute, Daniel Mareček, who is in Boleslav on loan from the Prague club, decided the shootout with his second goal of the game. The guests led three times after two converted penalties by Roman Květ and a shot by Václav Drchal. David Pech and David Šimek also contributed to Central Bohemia’s first home win this season. The “kangaroos”, who played from the 68th minute without the suspended Adam Jánoš, lost their away invincibility in the league season and remained fifth in the table. Mladá Boleslav moved to ninth place.

Slovácko turned the match against Teplice and won 2:1. Abdallah Gning gave the guests the lead at the end of the first half, substitute Filip Vecheta equalized in the 86th minute, and Stanislav Hofmann scored the winning goal in the fifth minute of regulation. The team from Uherské Hradiště won after two defeats and at home only for the second time in the season, improving to tenth place in the table. Fourteenth Teplice did not score for the third time in a row.

Thirty-nine-year-old Milan Petržela played an hour in the home team and equaled the record of current national team coach Jaroslav Šilhavý with his 464th start in the top competition. Thus, Slovácko won the general for Thursday’s key duel of the European Conference League against Kolín nad Rýnem.
