After only 52 hours break |

Cologne’s emergency team annoys Hoffenheim

Koln FIGHT for a point against Hoffenheim.

Around 52 hours after the final whistle of the Europa Conference League game at 1. FC Slovacko (1-0 for FC), Cologne has to play again with the last squad (nine (!) failures), but comes into the game better than the TSG.

13. Minute: The lightning-fast Maina ignites the turbo on the right, brings the ball inside very well, where Kainz (captain for the first time) nets it. The Austrian’s 5th goal of the season.

But Hoffenheim hit back in the 36th minute. Baumgartner breaks through to the baseline on the left, brings the leather into the middle, where Bruun Larsen puts his foot. 1:1!

In the second half, Cologne defended passionately and didn’t allow much except for a good chance from Kramaric in injury time (90+6). Surprising: In the 90 minutes, Cologne ran more than Hoffenheim (122.8 to 120.2 km).

And TSG only ended the game with ten men because Kabak received a yellow card after a foul on Dietz (87′). Bitter for the home team: Substitute Dietz was injured in the action and was substituted again in injury time (90+2).

Coach Steffen Baumgart (50): “I don’t think the boys really know what they’ve achieved. It is possible to deliver such an energy performance once, but not in the long term.”

Cologne central defender Timo Hübers (26): “I don’t know where the power reserves came from either. The motto was: Now even more so against all odds!”

Statistically important for FC: The draw ends Cologne’s horror series against Hoffenheim, because the last eight Bundesliga games against TSG have been lost (4:26 goals).
