Shortly after the start of the Russian war of aggression at the end of February, thousands of Russians fled to Turkey. With the partial mobilization ordered by Putin, another large flight movement is formed. Other countries are also badly affected.

There is nothing to indicate that Yevgeny* and his family have just burned all bridges to their previous lives. The 37-year-old Russian – red T-shirt, baseball cap, light backpack and sunglasses – strolls through sunny Istanbul city center like a tourist, his two small children pressing their noses against the window of a pastry shop.
