“You never know”: Thunderbolt to come for Giannis and the Bucks?

Titled a year ago, Giannis Antetokounmpo would like to do it again with Milwaukee. Except that the franchise could have to deal with a major departure, within a few months. A jailer from the locker room would thus potentially head for the exit.

To be NBA champion, you always need a great lieutenant to accompany the franchise player. Luckily for Giannis Antetokounmpo, he can count on Khris Middleton to fulfill this role. The back is one of the centerpieces of the Wisconsin workforce, being among the best in the league at his position. His injury during the last playoffs also contributed to the Daims’ adventure coming to an end in the second round in the East.

The good news is he’ll be back to battle it out in 2022-23, hoping to lift another title with his teammates. It would be good, because this may be the last campaign he will play for the Milwaukee side. Next summer, he will be able to decide whether or not to activate his $40 million player option. However, as he recently revealed to the Journal Sentinelthe man is not yet sure of doing it and does not rule out a departure:

Khris Middleton still unclear about his future

I think everyone knows deep down that I want to stay. But also, you know it’s a business. Things change, things happen. We never know. Of course, if they give me what I want, I’m there! I’m here.

Holder of a 177 million five-year contract, Middleton obviously hopes to be able to receive a new big check and plans to look elsewhere if his franchise cannot offer him that. With his profile (20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game last year at 37% behind the arc), there is no doubt that the competition will jump on his record. However, Internet users advise him cash to stay in his current stable, explaining to him that he will not find better elsewhere:

Lmao no one will pay you more than that little bro

The guy has Giannis as a teammate and doesn’t know if he wants to stay?!?!

If he wants to stay a few more years at the Bucks, Khris Middleton does not rule out a possible departure either. It would in any case be a heavy loss for the franchise and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who would then have to say goodbye to his faithful lieutenant.
