WTA Seoul: Tatjana Maria is defeated in the semifinals by the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova

Maria reached her only WTA final of the current season last April when she won the title in Bogota.

With her entry into the semi-finals in Seoul, Maria will rise to the top-ranked German in the coming world rankings.

Former world number one Angelique Kerber and Wimbledon quarter-finalist Jule Niemeier fall behind the current number 80.
