WTA: Iga Swiatek comfortable on her No. 1 throne

The Polish Iga Swiatek remains firmly anchored in her place of No. 1 in the WTA ranking published on Monday, which has changed little compared to last week, in the absence of a major tournament.

The Tunisian Ons Jabeur still occupies 2nd place, more than 5000 points behind Swiatek and she now precedes the Spaniard Paula Badosa who climbs from 4th to 3rd place to the detriment of the Estonian Anett Kontaveit (4th).

With 10,180 points, Swiatek has exactly twice as many points as Jabeur and his 5,090 points.

The rest of the Top 20 has seen few notable changes, apart from the two-place advance of Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, now 17th, and the two-place drop of Czech Petra Kvitova, 20th.

Leylah Fernandez is the highest-ranked Canadian player at No. 38 in the world, having not moved up since last week. Bianca Andreescu retained her 57th place in the world rankings.
