World Cup opponent Canada loses 0-2 to Uruguay | World Cup 2022

After 6′ Nicolas De La Cruz opened the score for Uruguay in Bratislava, just after half an hour Luis Suarez was the supplier for Darwin Nunez’s 0-2. That was also the final score.

Among the Canadians, there were a few players with a Belgian background.

Club Brugge striker and Canadian top scorer Cyle Larin formed the vanguard with ex-Gentenaar Jonathan David. Larin was taken off fifteen minutes before the end for Ike Ugbo (ex-Genk).

Bruges player Tajon Buchanan was sent off the field ten minutes before the whistle, which was also his return after injury.

Canada will play another friendly against Japan on November 17 before starting the World Cup in Qatar.

There it will play its first game of the group stage against the Red Devils on November 23.

Morocco is the second opponent for Belgium on Sunday 27 November. In their last group match they will play Croatia on Thursday 1 December.
