The Frankfurt women actually play in the Brentanobad stadium, which has a capacity of a good 5,600 seats. For the Bundesliga opener, however, they moved to the men’s stadium, the Deutsche Bank Park. It was worth it – the start of the season in front of a record crowd and in a great atmosphere!

Frankfurt national player Laura Freigang (24) fell on her shoulder after a good half hour and could hardly move her arm afterwards. She was supposed to be substituted – but initially refused and continued playing until the 73rd minute. Everything for this game!

National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (54) said at MagentaSport: “I’m glad that the audience in Frankfurt, which also welcomed us at the Römer, said, I’ll send a signal and go to the league.”

The German national team made it to the final at the European Championships, was then received euphorically in Frankfurt – and celebrated as if they had become European champions. In the final, England had won 2-1 in extra time and won the title.

The best chances in a 0-0 start to the Bundesliga: For Bayern, Lina Magull (28) has a good opportunity to lead after a mistake by the Frankfurt defense. The ball is deflected to the left corner (48′). Bayern keeper Maria-Luisa Grohs later holds strong against Geraldine Reuteler (77th). Bavaria’s European champion Georgia Stanway (23) was replaced at break with yellow-red endangered.
