Max Kruse (34) fuels speculation about a possible Werder return. In the Farewell Fiesta von Claudio pizarro (43) the ex-Werder star, who was sidelined in Wolfsburg, was finally back on a stadium lawn, kicking for Claudio’s amigos.
But it was only after the final whistle that Kruse really turned on. In the interview zone, Kruse filmed for his YouTube channel and put Werder’s professional boss Clemens Fritz through the wringer: “Clemens, many fans are demanding that I come back. How much money would I have to give up?”
Fritz with a smile: “It would be best if you brought some money with you.” Kruse countered: “I actually did earn a bit. I could also bring something with me, but I can also play for free.” Half joke, half serious.
Is Kruse joking back to Werder?
Only one thing is clear. His career is far from over. Kruse: “I want to keep playing football.” That’s only possible in the Bundesliga if there’s a change, which, however, won’t be possible until the new year. Kruse: “I’ll deal with my future as soon as January is approaching.”
A change to the Major Soccer League (MLS) is still considered a hot lead for Kruse’s future. But maybe Werder is interested in a return campaign like in the summer. The Bremen fans would be happy about a return. Kruse was received just as enthusiastically by the 40,500 spectators in the Weser Stadium as were the doubles heroes Johan Micoud and Ailton. And that’s saying something…
