Ugo Humbert has Dominic Thiem in the final in Rennes

Offensive and precise throughout the match, Ugo Humbert easily won the final of the Challenger tournament in Rennes on Sunday against former world No. 3 Dominic Thiem (6-3, 6-0 in 1h15).

After a very complicated first half of 2022, Humbert, who was 25th in the world in the summer of 2021, began to climb the slope through the secondary circuit. Having fallen beyond the first 150 ATP (157th on July 18), he will be back on Monday around 110th place in the world.

Faced with Thiem, whom he often outpaced, he won the last seven games of the match in a row without the Austrian getting a single ball for play. Humbert will not have lost a set this week , in Brittany, and this is the seventh title of his career on the Challenger circuit, he who also has three on the main circuit, including an ATP 500, in Halle last year.

Ugo Humbert will try to continue on Tuesday or Wednesday, at the ATP 250 Metz tournament, where the draw will allow him to challenge his compatriot Benjamin Bonzi again, against whom he lost in five sets in the first round of the last US Open .
