A fight broke out between two players from Mali after their defeat against Serbia at the Basketball World Cup in Australia.
It is a surreal scene which interrupted Sasa Cado, Serbian basketball player who had stopped in the mixed zone, after the victory of his against Mali (81-68). Next to her, as she spoke into the microphone of the TV channel Sports Club , a fight broke out between two Malian players, Salimatou Kourouma and Kamite Elisabeth Dabou. The images show several of their teammates and staff members trying to intervene.
Mali, which is playing the second World Cup in its history, has gone through its tournament: four defeats in as many matches, before a last meeting on Tuesday against Canada. The Malians, last of group B, are already eliminated. They were beaten by Japan (89-56), Australia (118-58), France (74-59) and therefore Serbia.
