Transfer market: the championships where you continue

From the registration of the released players to the foreign championships where there is still a market, everything you need to know about the second phase of the market

Traffic in the corridors, talks between prosecutors and managers, numerous TV stations. The Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan, in these days, has turned into a real den of the transfer market. A large clock was installed a stone’s throw from the hall, marking the hours left until the end of the summer session: the deadline started at 8 pm on Thursday 1 September.

ONLY RELEASED

From that moment on, Italian teams can no longer carry out entry operations. The released players are an exception: if the termination of the contract with their last club took place before the end of the summer session, they can also be registered in the coming weeks.

YES TO ASSIGNMENTS

It cannot be ruled out, however, that we will still hear about transfers of players abroad. In some countries the transfer market will remain open for a while longer: it is good news for the Italian players, who may receive an offer so tempting as to convince them to restart from a foreign league.

WHO CLOSES …

In Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Norway, Holland and Switzerland the market closed on the last day of August. France, Germany, England and Spain shared – together with Italy – the deadline of 1 September. Scotland and Poland followed this trend, but the “gong” time, due to the time zone, was not the same for everyone. No more Bundesliga registrations at 6 pm, in Ligue 1 at 11 pm, in Liga and Premier at the stroke of Italian midnight.

AND WHO NOT

The Belgian federation has decided to allow itself a few more days, setting the closing date for Tuesday 6 September. In Turkey and the Czech Republic it goes on until 8 September, while there is even more time for the Greek (15 September) and Portuguese (22 September) teams.
