Tiafoe beats Tsicipa and helps the World Team win the Laver Cup for the first time

Before the duel between Tiafoe and Greek Stefan Tsips (ATP No. 6), the score was 10-8 in favor of the World Team. If the Greek wins this duel, another match between Norwegian Kasper Ruud (ATP 2nd) and American Taylor Fritz (ATP 12th) will be played to determine the winner of the Laver Cup.

The final match was not necessary, because in the penultimate game, Tiafoe beat Tsicipa 1-6, 7-6 (13:11), 10:8 in an intense battle, securing a 13-8 victory for the World Team.

The world team consisted of Tiafoe, Argentinian Diego Schwartzman (ATP 17th), Australian Alex de Minor (ATP 22nd), Canadian Felix Ogier-Aliasim (ATP 13th), Fritz, American Jack Sock (ATP 128th).

The European team was represented by Tsitsip, Serbian Novak Djokovic (ATP 7th), Spaniard Rafael Nadal (ATP 3rd), Ruud, Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, whose participation in this tournament was a farewell from professional tennis, and British Andy Murray (ATP 43rd)

The Laver Cup was held for the first time in 2017. The Europeans had won all four previous competitions, crushing the World Team 14-1 in 2021.
