Thomas Tuchel: emotional farewell message from Chelsea | premier league

Todd Boehly came very quickly to the ranks of Chelsea. It is no secret to anyone that the whole of London does not live its best present. The ‘Blues’ are sixth in the Premier League with 10 points to five behind the leader, Arsenal. They have won three games, one draw and two defeats in these six dates of the national rental, waiting to play the seventh day that was postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In the Uefa Champions League the panorama did not start in the best way either. Chelsea lost by the slightest difference against Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, and that loss was the limit for Todd Boehly who decided to end Thomas Tuchel’s contractual relationship with the London team. The president turned the page with the signing of Graham Potter, a strategist for whom they paid 24 million euros for the former Brighton & Hove Albion.

Thomas Tuchel spent two years in the technical direction at Chelsea where he reached a hundred games, winning 60 games, drawing 24 and losing 16, it was not a bad record for the German strategist, leaving a success rate of 68, and he managed three international titles such as the Uefa Champions League, European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Thomas Tuchel and the Chelsea fans were clearly taken by surprise by the German’s departure after losing to Dinamo Zagreb by a narrow margin. The German kept silent, but appeared on social networks to say goodbye to London and his previous team, “this is one of the most difficult statements I have had to write, and it is one that I hoped not to have to do for many years”, that is how he began a heartfelt message on his Twitter account.

Later, he continued his message, “I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end. This is a club in which I have felt at home, both professionally and personally. Many thanks to all the staff, the players and the fans for making me feel very welcome from the beginning”.

Finally, he added, “the pride and joy I felt in helping the team win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honored to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of the last 19 months will always hold a special place in my heart.” Thomas Tuchel said goodbye with a Champions League, but the board forgets him, and due to one or another slip this season, he was fired.
