The Strongest suffers, wins and reaches the top of the Clausura

La Paz, September 8, 2022 (ATB Digital).- The Strongest got a victory this Thursday that returned him to the top of the Clausura championship. The La Paz team defeated Oriente Petrolero (2-1), by date 16. The match was played at the Hernando Siles stadium.

With 38 units, he sent Bolívar (37) to second place and Always Ready (35) came in third place, although the latter has one less game, which he will play on the 28th of this month against Royal Pari, in Santa Cruz.

The Strongest showed forcefulness against Oriente Petrolero that pressed and generated danger on the goal defended by Guillermo Viscarra, who had an excellent performance.

The scoreboard opened from the twelve steps, Maximiliano Caire’s hand complicated the good defensive work of the eastern box. The 1-0 was scored by Jair Reinoso, who is the second historical scorer since 1977 (24’PT).

The tie was due to Leandro Zazpe’s left shot, but Viscarra’s good intervention prevented the fall of his goal (45’PT).

In the second half, the coach of Oriente Petrolero, Erwin Sánchez, sent players with a more offensive vocation to the field, such as Facundo Suárez and Jorge Correa.

The 2-0 came from the corner kick, with Enrique Triverio’s header, at the near post (15’ST).

The drama increased when the brindle defender Adrián Jusino made a mistake, giving the ball to Suárez, who failed in his definition, but the rebound was left to Franz Gonzales who shot Viscarra (35’ST).

In the last minutes, Oriente looked more for the equalizer, although without luck in defining the offensive plays.
