The sensational streak is over, fifteen-year-old Fruhvirtová lost after 27 matches

The winning streak of 15-year-old tennis player Brenda Fruhvirtová in ITF tournaments ended today after 27 matches in the quarterfinals in San Sebastian.

The talented Czech, who was aiming for the sixth title in a row and the eighth this year, was not enough on the Spanish clay against the unseeded Dutchman Eva Vedder. She lost to an opponent seven years older, 3:6, 6:2, 4:6.

The younger sister of the 77th ranked tennis player in the world, Linda Fruhvirtová, led 2:0 in the deciding set. In the rest of the match, however, she lost serve four times and lost the match after almost two hours of play.

Despite her first defeat in four months, Brenda Fruhvirt moved up to No. 166 in the WTA rankings. In the past weeks, she dominated tournaments in Santa Margherita di Pula, Braunschweig, Mogyoród, Danderyd and Klosters.
