The Santiago City Council approves more than 450,000 euros for aid from the cultural sector

The Compostelan consistory has approved this Monday morning in the Local Government Board two items of more than 450,000 euros to help the cultural sector to promote new activities and support those that were being carried out in that city. This was announced by the mayor, Xosé Sánchez Bugallo, at a press conference after the meeting of the municipal executive.

The first aid line has a pbudget of 409,000 euros and is aimed at supporting activities for the professional sectorl. Grants are designed to help supplement programming, staffing, production or publishing expenses, among others. The others 45,000 euros will be used to subsidize cultural activities for cultural associations.

Both will have a period of one month from its publication in the Provincial Bulletin to request it. The maximum amount for those in the professional sector is 35,000 euros, while cultural associations can only access a maximum of 5,000 euros.

During the Local Government Board, a series of grants for cultural and sports associations. According to the data reported by the mayor at a press conference, a subsidy of 20,000 euros for the Ateneo de Santiago, 50,000 for the Performa Sociedade Cooperativa Galega, and 20,000 for the Asociación Ciudad Vella.

In terms of cultural promotion, the Compostelan town hall approved an allocation of 75,000 euros for the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, 50,000 euros for the Tambre Business Association, as well as 39,000 euros for the Union of Cooperatives Espazos COOP.

At the meeting of the government team in Santiago, a series of subsidies for the different sports entities of the city, among them the Club Vitoria and the Galician Federations of both judo and karate. The consistory also dismissed the appeal presented by the Santiago Futsal, for which it requested the granting of the subsidy, which was not delivered for not presenting the accreditation of payments in the Treasury and Social Security by the entity.

During the press conference, the mayor also pointed out that tomorrow, September 27, the period for renewal and application for a place at the Espazo Educativo e de Lecer María MIramontes will begin, which will end on October 6. The recipients of the service are Compostela children enrolled in an educational center in the city. The center has 73 beds, 20 from 2 to 3 years old, 30 from 4 to 6 years old and 23 from 7 to 12 years old.
