The referees and assistants of the Women’s First Division stand up and go on strike, after unanimously deciding this Thursday not to direct any match of this championship in the “current conditions of uncertainty of their employment and economic situation.”

«In the context of a new professional competition, we consider that women’s arbitration must have minimum conditions for the exercise of our activity. It is not conceivable that the arbitration establishment is the only one that is left out of a growth that we consider as fair as it is necessary, ”the collegiate members communicated.

The referees assure that “they want to provide the best possible service to football” and they understand that this happens “necessarily because they have minimum working conditions, comparable to those of the refereeing establishment of professional men’s competition.”

In his opinion, this “implies being able to have comparable working conditions that allow us to dedicate the essential time required to be in a professional competition.” “We are looking forward to stepping on the playing fields again, but with the right conditions,” they conclude.
