The new beginning of Union Neuchâtel

Union Neuchâtel back in action. The Swiss Basketball League club starts the 2022-2023 championship on Saturday on the Geneva Lions floor. A life-size test against a title contender. The unionist club displays more measured ambitions with a completely overhauled workforce. Member of the unionist committee, André Prébandier, was our guest this Friday morning in La Matinale to tell us about it.

The club’s spokesperson noted that Mitar Trivunovic’s team were making a new start after an exhilarating last season which saw them become runners-up in Switzerland.

During the off-season, all the foreigners as well as four major Swiss players decided to change air. The only seasoned player to remain is Kilian Martin; this one was propelled captain.

Union Neuchâtel is starting this new exercise with three new mercenaries and a cohort of up-and-coming Swiss players. The average age of the team is under 22 years old. The ambitions of the club remain measured: “You will have to know how to be patient”, judged André Prébandier.

Union Neuchâtel will play its first league game on Saturday at 6 p.m. on the shores of Lake Geneva against the Geneva Lions. A match to follow live on RTN. /mine
