The Judo Club Avallonnais association hopes to revive

Who says back to school says new resolutions! The Judo Club Avallonnais, located at the Dojo Frédéric Demontfaucon, rue de l’Arquebuse in Avallon, offers judo lessons (from four years old), but also ju-jitsu lessons (self defense) on Mondays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. 7:30 p.m. and taïso (Japanese gymnastics) on Wednesdays from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

A contact sport, judo allows you to work on your physical and mental strength. This discipline enriches qualities such as flexibility, anticipation, coordination, reflexes and balance. For the little ones, it helps them develop self-control, discipline, emotional balance, concentration and respect, with exercises adapted to each age.

As with any contact sport, the association has been impacted by the pandemic. “It was very complicated during the Covid 19 pandemic, because being a contact sport, we lost a lot of people. Also because of the health passes, because there are a lot of teenagers and adults who did not necessarily want to be vaccinated, so they could no longer follow the courses,” explains Pedro De Pinho, president of the association.

In the future, the association will organize open houses with demonstrations and free trial sessions.
