The Girona Women’s Sports Day recovers its original format

The The Women’s Sports Day will hold its tenth edition in 2022. The next one will be held Sunday, September 25 in the city of Girona and will recover its usual format, after last year it had to adapt to the conditions marked by the pandemic. Different spaces such as the Salvador Espriu, Catalunya and Calvet and Rubalcaba squares, as well as the Onyar riverbed, will host this event.

This year there will be several ambassadors. One of them, of honor, as is the case of Laia Palau, former basketball player and currently sports director of Uni Girona. too Isabel Sánchez-Aran (free lung diver), Txell Figueras (mountain biker), Yasmina Alcaraz (basketball referee) and Nora Carbonell (snowboarding).

This afternoon they were summoned to the Ferran Agulló room of the Diputació de Girona, together with the Deputy for Sports, Jordi Masquef; the Councilor for Sports of Girona City Council, Àdam Bertran; the territorial representative of Sport in Girona, Anna Julià; and the coordinator of the Women’s Sports Day, Olga Praderas. His official presentation took place there, with the presence also of representatives of those sports entities and associations that will collaborate with this day.

Next Sunday, September 25, the 2022 Women’s Sports Day will allow all the girls and women who want to practice and learn about a total of 19 sports disciplines: roller hockey, table tennis, artistic gymnastics, volleyball, canoeing, athletics, rugby, rhythmic gymnastics, weightlifting, basketball, football, handball, skating, chess, judo, tennis, skateNordic march and paleotraining), in addition to the traditional games of bélit and Catalan bowling.

The activities do not end here, because there are also organized parallel ones hypopressive workshops, Nordic walking, kangoo i pilates, as well as an outing of walkers and runners to prepare for the ninth edition of the Women’s Race, which will be held on October 9. Other talks and workshops are also scheduled and planned, as revealed today.

The day was born in 2013 and is organized by the Girona City Council and the Girona Provincial Council, in collaboration with the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Girona Sports Council.
