“The game is much harder in Europe than in the NBA”

Luka Doncic made a few American basketball fans jump by declaring that it was much easier to score in the NBA than in FIBA. The Slovenian did not even imply that the level was higher on the Old Continent, which the outraged fans in question struggled to understand. Giannis Antetokounmpo went in the same direction as its European counterpart.

“Already I think the game is much harder in Europe than in the NBA. There are obviously more talents in the NBA but there are also more spaces. The game in Europe is more intense. The defense will take you on all terrain, in the zone, there are more double-takes. It goes from a zonal defense to an individual then it makes two-to-one at the post. It’s more physical. Maybe because there is less talent. It’s harder. So I think that prepared me for the season. Especially when playing with so much less space,” entrusts le double MVP.

The field may seem very large to him during the first matches. Something to help him score profusely. On the other hand, it is possible that Giannis Antetokounmpo is a bit tired after such a busy summer.
