After his farewell as a professional tennis player at the 2022 Laver Cup, Roger Federer received a very special gift: a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance 4-doornothing less than a German sports car with 843 horsepower.
The German brand decided to honor one of the best athletes in history (for many, the best) with a personalized unit and painted it with a color very similar to the yellow of tennis balls. She designed it exclusively for the occasion.
In addition, in different sectors of the bodywork and interior this sporty beast bears the acronym RFalluding to the name and surname of the Swiss.
Mercedes and Roger have a partner relationship of more than fifteen years. According to the EFE agency, they plan a contract that binds them until 2027 for five million dollars a year. Among other things, this union allows Federer to change cars every six months. For another Mercedes, of course.
The former tennis player has already been seen behind the wheel of vehicles of the stature of the AMG CLS 63, the AMG GLE 63 coupé and the AMG SLS Roadster.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E-Performance is a high-performance hybrid saloon. For now it is the most powerful vehicle in the history of AMG, the sports division of Mercedes.
Under the hood he wears an infernal 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. As the system is hybrid, it adds two electric motors to reach a total of 843 horsepower and 1,470 Nm of maximum torque.
Equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system, Federer’s new car it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 316 km/h. In electric mode it can travel 13 kilometers.
Roger thanked the gift and announced that it will be auctioned at the end of the year. The proceeds will be used for a charity project for the development of tennis.

Thanks to everyone here and around the world. My parents are here, the boys, the girls, my parents. We’re going to get through this somehow. I told the guys I’m happy, I’m not sad.”
