In view of the upcoming demanding challenges that await sport in general and the problems relating to the uncertainty of the future about the destination of the Lavagna sports facilities, the city sports clubs have decided to create a “team” and to meet in a sports club, called POLISPORTIVA LAVAGNESE, which will deal with managing relations with public administrations, any direct management of sports facilities, promoting and organizing sports practice in the city of Lavagna for both young users and the world of amateurs. The new Association therefore represents all the main “gymnasium” sports, Volleyball, Basketball, Archery, Kung Fu and Wushu, Karate and Self Defense, Rhythmic and Artistic Gymnastics.
The Palmares of the various sports clubs, which have been operating in the city area but also at a district level for a very long time (some for more than 50 years), are known and all significant, the result of sporting excellence and the work of athletes and managers from Lavagnesi, many of the which have dedicated a large part of their life to sport.
The numbers of practitioners are also very important. The ASDs had more than 2,000 athletes registered before Covid who, it is hoped, can be “restored” again during the current new Sporting Year, a figure that goes beyond 10,000 units if we consider the approximately 8,000 athletes registered in the CSI of the Chiavari Committee.
The first act of POLISPORTIVA will be the request for a meeting with the Mayor of Lavagna Dr. Alberto Mangiante to present the new association and obtain information on the future intentions of its Administration on the future management of the city’s sports facilities.
