This year the places have been increased with a total of 2,424 (1,084 from the Sports Schools and 1,340 from the group activities) compared to the 1,768 that existed during 2021, with 138 groups compared to the 101 that were offered last year and will be offered 9,472 hours compared to 8,288 in 2021.

The Sports Schools, according to the mayor, «will offer activities of psychomotricity and sports initiation aimed at boys and girls from 3 to 12 years old that will be held by different municipal facilities in the city. It includes sports such as athletics, chess, badminton, basketball, cycling, dance, fencing, soccer, futsal, rhythmic gymnastics, judo, karate, wrestling-sambo, paddle tennis, skating, tennis, table tennis, archery, trail running and volleyball”.

The municipal group of the Popular Party voted against, in the Governing Council of the Municipal Sports Institute, the award of the Sports Schools and the sports programs of the City Council of Cáceres, considering that the offer is very deficient, “they leave out and they do not cover the actual demands of families in Cáceres, and they do not improve the quality and quantity of sports with respect to previous seasons. The popular councilor, Pedro Muriel, pointed out that «the Sports Schools and the sports programs of the City Council fulfill a very important function since they allow access to sports for many people, children and adults, with the benefit that sports practice entails, but we consider that the offer is very deficient.
