The Judo Sports Initiation School, which operates in the Kennedy neighborhood, in the department of Santa Lucía, traveled to the province of Mendoza last weekend to compete in an interprovincial tournament.
In it, eight athletes who make up the Sports Initiation School participated, a program that depends on the Directorate of Federated Sports of the Secretary of State for Sports of San Juan.
The boys who traveled are in charge of Professor Ricardo Meritello and the tournament was held at the Sports Center number 3 Padre Contreras in the town of Godoy Cruz. The tournament had a total of 220 participants, in addition to the children of the EID, 24 children from the Club Barrio Rivadavia who work under the orders of Luis Meritello traveled.
The little athletes lived an enriching day, as they added a lot of experience and several of them got a place on the podium:
- Fernando Postigo (1st place)
- April Zalazar (1st place)
- Isidro Victoria (1st place)
- Tomas Strada (1st place)
- Maximum Heredia (1st place)
- Franco Armada (2nd place)
- Marcos Dominguez (3rd place)
- Emiliano Armada (3rd place)
It is worth remembering that all those who wish to join the practice of judo for free and be part of the Sports Initiation School, must go to the Kennedy Neighborhood Union on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
