the All Blacks slap Australia

New Zealand corrected Australia on Saturday to regain control of the Rugby Championship while waiting for the South Africa match.

The All Blacks very close to a 3rd title in a row in the Rugby Championship. Ian Foster’s players won 40-14 against Australia this Saturday at Eden Park in Auckland. An improved success that almost offers them the trophy unless South Africa does the improbable against Argentina at the end of the afternoon.

In front of more than 47,000 spectators, the locals showed off their superiority against valiant Wallabies who did not have the weapons to compete. The first period is controlled by the Blacks who erected a real wall in front of their in-goal and on which the Australians kept breaking their teeth. Dave Rennie’s men benefited from several offensive sequences but never managed to break through the opposing curtain.

Relying on this good defensive base, the locals made the difference thanks to Will Jordan after just over 20 minutes of play. On an action initiated by Reiko Ioane, the Blacks winger escaped on the right wing, breaks several tackles, and goes flat in the in-goal. Not always disciplined and largely dominated in the ruck zones, Australia fell behind a few minutes later. Hooker Dave Porecki collapses a maul near in-goal and concedes a penalty try before picking up a yellow card. Without forcing their talent, the New Zealanders return to the locker room with a comfortable lead.

A history of balloons carried

After the break, the Blacks further establish their dominance. Just three minutes after kick-off, Samuel Whitelock is at the conclusion of a big attacking sequence for his team. A little over 10 minutes later, it was a perfectly formed maul that allowed Codie Taylor to score a 4th try in favor of New Zealand.

Taking advantage of a bad kick from Richie Mo’unga, Folau Fainga’a saved the honor for the Wallabies for the first time but the Blacks quickly moved forward and wanted to secure their offensive bonus. On a new victorious ball carried, Samisoni Taukei’aho restores 30 points in advance to the locals. The Australian test signed Jordan Petaia (80th) will not change the outcome of the meeting but slightly reduces the goal average of the Blacks in their distance duel with South Africa for the title.

However, the Springboks would have to sign a bonus victory with a gap of more than 39 points against Argentina to steal the trophy from the All Blacks. Almost impossible mission.
