The 103rd National Sports Festival Kunsan National University Athletes’ Departure Ceremony was held on the 5th at the Kunsan University University Headquarters conference room.
Participating athletes, officers, coaches, Kunsan University President Lee Jang-ho, Kunsan University alumni president Kang Tae-seong, and physical education professor attended the ceremony.
The kickoff ceremony was held to encourage the athletes participating in the national athletics competition to fully demonstrate their skills on behalf of the Jeonbuk region and Kunsan University, and 43 athletes from Kunsan University will participate in this national athletics competition.
The 103rd National Sports Festival will be held in 74 places in Ulsan Metropolitan City, including Ulsan Stadium, for 7 days from October 7th to 13th. In total, 20,000 athletes will participate in 49 events, including 46 official events and 3 demonstration events.
At Kunsan University, 43 athletes will participate in 6 sports including rowing, track and field, canoeing, table tennis, badminton, and soft tennis.
President Lee Jang-ho and alumni president Kang Tae-seong said in their encouraging speech, “I hope that we will do our best to enter the top 10.”
Meanwhile, Kunsan University has been showing off its superior skills by showing excellent results in events such as table tennis, tennis, shot put, badminton, and rowing every year in large and small domestic and international competitions, including the National Sports Festival.
