What happened?

In the second set of the game Tsitsipas against Schwartzman, a demonstrator runs onto the pitch and sets a fire. Suddenly his right arm is on fire too, and he panics. After the activist put out the fire, he remains seated cross-legged on the field. His white T-shirt reads “End UK Private Jets” in black capital letters. So: “No more British private jets.”

The 20-year-old named Kai is a member of an organization by the same name – “End UK Private Jets”. On the group’s platform, he claims that carbon emissions in 2022 are genocide.

Kai has appeared in several videos in the past explaining his tough stance on climate activism.

In doubles, Federer and Nadal meet the US duo Jack Sock (29) and Frances Tiafoe (24) on Friday evening.

Federer before the game at “Eurosport” on his future: “I hope to be good out there and of course I want to enjoy it.”

The Swiss had announced the end of his career last week.
