Successful first edition of the Patagonian Integration Games

From September 9 to 11 in Santa Rosa, La Pampawere carried out Patagonian Integration Gamesa new sports competition that aims to promote Olympic disciplines with development potential in the region and will be held annually from this first edition.

The event organized by the Patagonian Sports Entity brought together 700 athletes between 14 and 17 years old from the six Patagonian provinces that competed in eight disciplines: wrestling, taekwondo, tennis, artistic gymnastics, olympic lifting, table tennis, badminton and archery. In the last three cases, competitions in the Paralympic version were also included.

The director of Sports Competitions of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports participated in the opening ceremony, Emiliano Gordin. The national portfolio supports this initiative within the framework of the construction of an annual sports calendar that aims at development and has a federal imprint. It is a consequence of the joint work with the Sports authorities of each of the Patagonian provinces, which promoted this innovative proposal: Gustavo Hernandez (Chubut), Ceferino Almudevar (The Pampa), Alejandra Piedecasas (Neuquen), Diego Rosatti (Black river), Martin Lopez (Holy Cross) and Carlos Turdo (Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands).

The team of Black river He was the winner of this first edition: in the three days he obtained a total of 45 medals (28 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze).
