Students: Cantù, we have come a long way

«This is meant to be an evening with a strong symbolic value, because it represents the beginning of Pallacanestro Cantù’s“ Road to 24 ”. An ambitious path that will lead us to the laying of the first stone of the new multifunctional arena in 2023, with the inauguration scheduled for 2024 ».

There is always the new sports hall – a definition that in Cantù always judges a bit reductive – at the center of the project. Which goes hand in hand with that of a sporting rebirth that brings the first team back to Serie A as soon as possible.

In his speech last night at the Relais Castello di Casiglio in Erba, the president Roberto Allievi addressed the institutions, sponsors and friends of the club. The opportunity was given by the presentation of the team in an evening by invitation, presented by the Sky journalist Alessandro Mamoli.

Because now we get to the heart, after the definitive go-ahead: «The Cantù Next project sees us collaborating with a world-class partner such as the US giant Asm Global, a leader in services and in the management of events and arenas. Our new home, in addition to being a flywheel for the territory, has already become a reference point at national level, having received the declaration of public utility in recent weeks, which is unique in Italy for sports facilities ».

Allievi retraced the last few years, complicated from various points of view: «With our heart, head and commitment we have come a long way in the last three years. It was not easy, we are aware of that. Suffice it to say that we have taken over a company on the brink of the abyss and we have brought it to be an example of virtuous management. We have regained credibility and, with a very high head, we can say that we have a healthy balance sheet. A big thank you goes to the members of Tutti Insieme Cantù, who are the soul of our model of doing sport, that is a company with widespread ownership, a winning and sustainable company in which there is no single owner, but you are the true owners. you”.

Now the goal, perhaps the most difficult of all, is to give Cantù a central role in the world of Italian basketball: «We have to improve ourselves to go back to where our history deserves. A development towards excellence, in which sporting and corporate results must always go hand in hand. Cantù represents the history of Italian and European basketball, which must return as soon as possible to the basketball elite, honoring the glorious past and working towards an increasingly successful future ».

Finally, a warm invitation to the audience: «It is essential that you continue to support and support us, as you have done so far. You sponsor are the heart and engine of our club. Precisely for this reason we want to grow together with you, creating synergies and lasting business ties that allow the Cantù Basketball brand to return to the top, building teams with increasingly important budgets.
