Judo

It is a fighting sport of Japanese origin in which two opponents, called “judokas”, try to knock each other down using a series of specific techniques. The use of weapons is not allowed.

Those who participate?

Public and private IE students can participate in the JEDPA in the different sports competitions that are convened, in the categories that are determined by ages from 10 to 17 years of age, both women and men.

Benefits

Judo promotes social interaction, strengthens mindfulness, develops balance, improves strength, and encourages coordination.

The philosophy of judo is very peculiar, as it teaches its practitioners to fall and knock down their opponents. In a metaphorical sense, it teaches that in life sometimes you fall down and other times you fall down, but you always have to be alert and learn to get up.
