Spanish national coach Luis Enrique not panicked after losing to Switzerland | NOW

National coach Luis Enrique of Spain does not panic about the 1-2 defeat against Switzerland in the Nations League in the run-up to the World Cup. The 2010 world champion dropped to second place in group 2 of division A due to the loss.

“This loss does not make me doubt,” Luis Enrique said at the press conference on Saturday evening. “Of course it is better to start the World Cup with a winning streak, but I have every confidence in my team.”

Spain went into halftime halfway through with a 0-1 deficit due to a goal by Manuel Akanji. Jordi Alba equalized ten minutes after the restart, after which Breel Embolo took the winning goal after an hour.

“The performance in the first half in particular disappoints me. But you have to remember that we played against a strong team,” said Luis Enrique. “We just didn’t have our day and then something like this can happen.”

According to Luis Enrique, there is not a certain part in which his team has to make progress. “It has to be better on all fronts. Fortunately, we still have some time.”

“We have everything in our own hands. It will certainly not be easy, but we will get opportunities. That cannot be otherwise with our way of playing.”
