Some are more equal than others

Why is this important? There is no shortage of people who believe that the Irish wrestler “boosted” his muscle mass with the help of illegal substances. One of those people is former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo.

“Steroids are not going to help Conor. Of course he’s taking that shit. But it’s not going to help him. Conor should stay away from cocaine. That’s what he needs to do,” Cejudo said on his YouTube channel.

How does USADA work?

USADA’s principle is basically very simple – if a wrestler is considered active and his career has not ended, then his name must be on USADA’s testing list. If the athlete’s name is on this list, he can expect a visit from USADA representatives at any time.

USADA rules do not answer questions about the status of specific wrestlers. However, an official statement offered an explanation for this situation.

“Once UFC athletes are placed in the testing program, they may be tested at any time, even if they are not competing. This is until the UFC announces the end of the wrestler’s career, termination of the contract, or the athlete is otherwise removed from the program,” it said. In the USADA explanation.

Also, the USADA rules state that “doping tests may be specifically ordered”. This means that the law of randomness mentioned above does not always work. In other words, USADA makes the decisions when (and if) to test wrestlers.

USADA rules also state that a wrestler who wants to return to the Octagon after a layoff must pass two negative tests within six months before the fight.
