Shin Tae Yong Wants Indonesia to Fight Higher in FIFA Ranking

Bogor, CNN Indonesia

After winning twice against FIFA’s 84th ranked team, Curacao, Shin Tae Yong want to Indonesian National team against the team ranked higher in the next FIFA Matchday agenda.

According to FIFA’s release, the 2022 international calendar has ended. The new international agenda will be on again in March 2023. In other words, PSSI has about five months to find an opponent according to Shin’s wishes.

“For this year’s FIFA Matchday has all been completed. Surely next year there will be a match and it must be against the one with a higher FIFA ranking, so that Indonesian football can move forward,” he said.

In the match against Curacao, the Indonesian national team won twice. First, they won 3-2 at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Saturday (24/9) and then won 2-1 at the Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor on Tuesday (27/9).

Indonesia’s five goals in the two matches were Marc Klok, Fachruddin Aryanto, Dimas Drajad with two goals, and Dendy Sulistyawan. This is a fairly special achievement.

In the first match Shin used a 3-4-3 formation, while in the second match it was a 4-2-3-1. Despite using two different patterns, Rachmat Irianto and his friends’ game is fairly solid.

A total of three players made their debuts in the two matches, namely Ramadan Sananta, Dendy Sulistyawan, and Muhammad Ferrari. The three were deliberately shown by Shin to give them flying hours.

What was interesting was that Shin changed the player’s position. Yakob Sayuri, who is a winger or winger, has been repositioned as a right-back to replace Asnawi Mangkualam Bahar, who has not recovered 100 percent from his injury.
