From joy to anger. Then an immense and deep feeling of injustice. Arkadiusz Milik went through a whole range of emotions on Sunday evening during the Serie A match between his Juventus team against Salernitana on the 6th day of the championship.
Led 0-2 at half-time, Juve managed to come back tied in added time on a penalty, converted in two stages by Leonardo Bonucci (90th + 3). But fans of the Old Lady think they are witnessing a real miracle when, a few moments later, with a header Arkadiusz Milik gives victory to his people.
In the aftermath, the Pole, on loan from OM, drunk with happiness, heads for the corner post and takes off his jersey. His joy is short-lived. His gesture is synonymous with a second yellow card and… expulsion. Worse. After verification by the VAR, his goal is disallowed for an offside position by Bonucci… An imaginary offside. On the images we can see an opposing player “behind” the person concerned.
The last minutes revolve at the Comedia del Arte. The tension is palpable between the actors of the two camps who are inveighing against each other. In addition to Milik, the referee sends off Federico Fazio, for the Salernitana side, and Juan Cuadrado and his coach Massimiliano Allegri for the Bianconeri.
“I haven’t spoken with the referee and you have to leave the referees alone, because the protagonists are the players. On the disallowed goal, I only regret that there are no images showing Candreva,” Allegri commented afterwards.
During the night Milik published a story on his Instagram account to complain and show the presence of the Salernitana player who covers Bonucci. A publication that he later withdrew but whose screenshots flourish on social networks.
