Schuldenberg of Inter continues to grow: 140 million euros loss in 2021-2022 Serie A

One year after the record loss of 245 million euros, Inter has once again had to pull out the red pen for its accounting. In the past season, another loss of 140 million euros was suffered.

The Italian clubs are not doing well financially. On Friday, Juventus already announced that it had suffered a loss for the 4th year in a row, this time even a record loss of 254.3 million euros.

Inter doesn’t do much better. The Milanese already reached a peak in 2020-2021 with a loss of 245 million euros. Shortly afterwards, the club collected a sloppy 100 million euros for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

But that was not enough to close the gap for the previous season. Another 140 million euros loss was made. On the positive side, Inter’s income grew to almost 440 million euros.

The Chinese owners of Inter nevertheless remain courageous. “Our main goals remain to keep the club sporting at a high level while strengthening our financial position.”
