Say goodbye in style! Roger Federer chooses Rafael Nadal as his doubles partner in goodbye match | Tennis

“My friend and rival,” Rafael Nadal addressed Roger Federer at his retirement announcement. “It was a pleasure, but also an honor and a privilege to share all those years with you, on and off the site.”

Nevertheless, there is still time on Friday evening at the Laver Cup for a “last dance” by the two competitors. This time it actually becomes a partner dance.

Roger Federer is playing doubles alongside his eternal competitor Rafael Nadal in the last game of his career. The organizers of the tournament in London announced this today. Their opponents are the Americans Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

At the Laver Cup, Team Europe will face Team World. Team World captain John McEnroe and tournament directors agreed wholeheartedly with Federer’s plan.

The six players from each team are normally required to play one or two of the scheduled nine singles matches, but there will be an exception for once.
