The 45-year-old is convinced that Bayern will flip the switch against Leverkusen: “We will play differently after the international break. And I expect that too. Our players have quality, mentality and character, they want and will show that. The upcoming games against Leverkusen, Pilsen and in Dortmund are exactly the right stage for this.”
Of course, it is also crucial that Bayern’s offensive is more efficient again, says Salihamidzic: “We need a much better, more focused exploitation of chances.” A look at the numbers reveals just how badly Bayern Munich’s offensive engine has stuttered: 93 Bayern have shot at goal in the last four Bundesliga games, only four of them were successful. For comparison: In the first three games there were 30 out of which 15 goals were scored.
