Araujo got injured while defending Uruguay in the FIFA Matchday match against Iran, Friday (23/9/2022) WIB. The 23-year-old player suffers from an avulsion or a muscle that is torn and detached from the bone.
After the injury, Araujo was immediately sent back to Barcelona to check how bad his condition was. The result was dire. At this point, Araujo can make a decision between surgery or conservative action.
For the sake of complete healing, Araujo finally confirmed that he was taking surgery. As such, he will have to be sidelined for almost three months and will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
